Research Support
Law Library's Research Assistant (RA) Service:
Library research assistants (RAs) are available to help faculty with short term research and reference projects. The library RAs are second and third year law students who work under the supervision of librarians. Library RAs can also offer faculty assistance with scholarship support needs such as proofreading, copy editing, or footnotes. For long term needs or for ongoing continuous short term projects, the library can assist you in hiring, training, and supervising your own individual RA (CONTACT: faculty.servicesnull@law.csuohio.nulledu).
Training for Faculty Research Assistants:
The Law Library staff offers specialized training services for your RA. We provide individualized or group training sessions for faculty RAs that cover topics such as identifying relevant legal authorities, identifying resources in other disciplines, using specialty databases, and organizing information (CONTACT: faculty.servicesnull@law.csuohio.nulledu).
Research Guides:
Research Librarians can tailor a course-specific research guide for you to use on your own course page or as a handout for your class (CONTACT: faculty.servicesnull@law.csuohio.nulledu ). See our current Research Guides.
Conference and Program Support:
The Research Librarians work with faculty to provide research and bibliographic services supporting programs and conferences. Our services include compiling information on speakers, assisting to identify and/or locate articles for continuing education materials packets, as well as preparing displays to promote and complement the events and highlight additional resources (CONTACT: faculty.servicesnull@law.csuohio.nulledu).
LexisNexis & Westlaw:
Research Librarians can assist you with LexisNexis and Westlaw searches, and can arrange training and refresher courses. (CONTACT: faculty.servicesnull@law.csuohio.nulledu )
Also see the Instructional Support page for more services provided by the research librarians.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Networks:

When items are not available via Cleveland State libraries or OhioLINK/SearchOhio, the Law Library will attempt to obtain the needed materials from the closest or least expensive sources. Law faculty are not charged fees to obtain materials via ILL, but fees could be charged if the borrowed item is lost. To make an ILL request, use the online form below or stop by the Information Services Desk.
