Description
Prerequisites:RCC. This course deals with questions underlying the responsibilities of prosecutors and defense lawyers to self, society, client, and the profession. It provides students with the analysis and authorities necessary to understand the issues and underlying policies. Premises concerning the lawyer's role in criminal law practice and roles within the context of the adversary system are examined in some detail, as is the idea of professionalism. The Rules of Professional Conduct are analyzed as generalized statements of the aspirations and obligations of prosecutors and defense lawyers, and as applied to concrete problems.
