Curriculum

The curriculum at CSU College of Law provides students a broad and thorough body of legal study beginning with the traditional foundational courses and expanding in upper level courses and electives.

In addition to the first year core courses, students must take six required upper level courses, beyond that, students may take courses as they choose based on a number of factors including personal interest and subjects tested on the Bar Exam. The list of Courses by Practice Area is intended to help students think about courses of study they may wish to pursue. Students do not major in a course of study but some choose to focus on a particular area in one of our Concentrations or specialty areas, or by completing the requirements for the Certificates in Health Law. Others decide to pursue one of our dual degrees that combine a J.D. with a Masters degree from the Colleges of Urban Affairs, Business or Science. Students may also take up to two graduate level courses (8 credit hours total) in other colleges at CSU.
