“Words cannot express the gratitude I have for the scholarship you all have so kindly decided to offer me…You all have given me the opportunity to fulfill my destiny and for that I am forever grateful !” -1L Student
Each fall, we are excited to hold our Hall of Fame event to honor those exceptional leaders who have contributed to the past, present, and/or future success and reputation of CSU C|M|LAW. We have decided to postpone this year’s Hall of Fame event until 2021 because we don’t think it is fair to our distinguished CSU C|M|LAW Hall of Fame Honorees pictured below not to have an in-person celebration.
Since the Hall of Fame event is our only fundraising event of the year, we have decided to hold an important virtual event in its place on November 6, 2020 focused on equal, social, and racial justice scholarships and initiatives - Living Justice Day: A Day of Giving
Living Justice Day on Friday, November 6 will provide scholarship support to our students as they pursue our mission - now more critical than ever - to Learn Law. Live Justice.
We ask you to give what you can now up until 12 midnight on Friday, November 6 at this link: Living Justice Day: A Day of Giving
In conjunction with Living Justice Day, I’m pleased to announce that we have established the Living Justice Scholarship Fund. This new fund will support students with financial need, with a preference for graduates of historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and/or applicants who evidence an interest in social justice work.
We are also seeking increased funding for a number of our existing social and racial justice and public service scholarships and fellowships that provide support for law students’ studies and work experience in serving justice for all. These funds honor trailblazers such as Judge Lillian Burke ‘51 and Congressman Louis Stokes ‘53.
On November 6th, we are asking not only for your support all day but also for your participation. We will have matching gift challenges, a lunch hour CLE (Changing the Conversation on Race in the Legal Profession, 1.0 hours CLE pending. Registration available here) with a tax-deductible donation to the Living Justice Scholarship Fund, and an evening alumni panel on Social and Racial Justice in the Legal Profession.
We have united as a community in the face of a shared crisis. Now it’s time to move forward in providing our students with opportunities to excel and change our world.
Please join us in supporting these future lawyers and leaders in social and racial justice. Living Justice Day: A Day of Giving
