“I skate to where the puck is going, not where it has been.” – Wayne Gretzky
We pride ourselves in our ability to skate to where the puck is going – to adapt our curriculum and programs to meet fast-changing market demands. I am proud to announce that our newly created, fully online Master of Legal Studies in Cybersecurity and Data Privacy is officially accepting applications for spring 2020. This degree is designed for anyone who wants to understand the significant legal and business risks posed by cybersecurity, data security and data privacy.
We will have a webinar this Wednesday, November 20, 12noon to discuss application requirements and upcoming deadlines, our curriculum and faculty, and cost and financial aid options. Register here: https://csulawonline.com/webinar-registration/
We’re excited about the national attention our new program has received:
· National Jurist Magazine: Cleveland-Marshall Offers Online MLS in Cybersecurity
Professor Brian Ray led the development of the Master of Legal Studies in Cybersecurity and Data Privacy and Julie DiBiasio, our Director of Graduate Studies and Professional Development, manages the program.
Professor Ray, who directs our C|M|LAW Center for Cybersecurity and Privacy Protection, worked closely with leading practitioners in the field to develop an online MLS Cyber program that will equip our graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary to enter—or advance their careers—in these fast-growing fields.
There is a critical need for technologists and business executives to better understand the legal and strategic dimensions of effective cybersecurity. Students in this program will not only receive the high quality, innovative curriculum, but also will have access to a professional network we’ve spent years building.
The online MLS is the latest offering in Cleveland-Marshall’s robust legal technology program, C|M|LAW Tech. Our Cybersecurity Center was established in 2016 and earned national recognition for its innovative approach that integrates law, business, technology and managerial approaches to address cybersecurity and privacy risks. Each year our Center hosts a national conference that convenes prominent leaders from government, business, technology and law to address multidisciplinary strategic approaches to addressing cyber and privacy issues. Our next conference is scheduled for April 30, 2020. The Center established one of the first and still one of only a handful of data security and privacy certificate programs for law students.
