Moot Court Secures Additional High Finishes in Spring Competition

In addition to first place finishes at the Gabrielli National Family Law Moot Court Competition, the Frederick Douglass Moot Court Competition and the August A. Rendigs National Product Liability Moot Court Competition, Cleveland-Marshall College of Law’s moot court team had several strong finishes during Spring competition.

C|M|LAW 3Ls Brittany Mallow and Andrew Schriver  delivered a strong performance in the Herbert Wechsler National Criminal Moot Court Competition.  In a field of 31 teams, Mallow and Schriver  won Best Petitioner's Brief and in oral argument rounds, advanced to the semifinals before losing in a close match.  Mallow and Schriver  were coached by Cleveland-Marshall Adjunct Professor Claire Curtis (Federal Public Defender) and Cleveland-Marshall alumna Kelsey Weil (Cuyahoga County Public Defender).

The 3L team of Robert Barbato and John Reulbach both earned best oralist honors in the ABA's National Appellate Advocacy Competition in Washington, D.C.  Barbato and Reulbach ranked sixth and ninth, respectively, out of approximately 90 students.  The team was coached by C|M|LAW alumni Rob McCaleb (Squire Patton) and Caitlin Hill (Kohrman Jackson).

Additionally, a trio of 2Ls – Lauren Holler, Patrick Sennish, and Nicole Vincent -- earned the fifth highest brief score (out of 23 teams) in the National Moot Court Competition in Adoption and Family Law.  Holler, Sennish and Vincent were coached by C|M|LAW alumni Kyle Hutnick (Schuster & Simmons) and Marilyn Eble (Thomson Hine).
