Kyle Stroup graduated summa cum laude in May 2019 and is awaiting results from the July 2019 Ohio bar examination.
What motivated you to attend law school?
I attended law school because I wanted challenge myself, first and foremost, and I also wanted to become an attorney to be able to solve real issues to better my community.
Tell us about your legal experience.
During law school, I was fortunate enough to work alongside and learn from a brilliant group of attorneys, federal law clerks, and a judge. First, I externed with Magistrate Judge David Ruiz of the Northern District Court of Ohio. There, I was able to experience the various stages of litigation and enjoyed seeing a case from both sides while analyzing each party’s argument. Afterwards, I clerked at Mansour Gavin LPA where I spent the vast majority of my time assisting attorneys in litigation by drafting briefs and memoranda in many different litigation areas, including real estate, land use, probate, commercial insurance defense, and § 1983 actions.
What are the best qualities you'll bring to a potential employer?
My best quality is my work ethic. Prior to law school, I worked on the production line at General Motors and at many minimum wage jobs. These experiences, plus my time spent playing sports, instilled in me the ability to dedicate myself to solving a challenging problem. This skill was refined during my law school career as I spent long hours studying, crafting arguments, completing projects, and drafting briefs.
What are your goals for your legal career?
Simply put, I want to be the best attorney that I can be while contributing to a team in order to solve challenging issues.
