Please join us for a conversation with Professor Milena Sterio, CSU Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, about the role of International Law in the escalating Russia-Ukraine conflict. Professor Sterio will discuss relevant international law issues related to the conflict, such as the use of force, the law of aggression, the principle of state sovereignty and state determination, as well as the role of international organizations such as NATO the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.

Milena Sterio is The Charles R. Emrick Jr. - Calfee Halter & Griswold Professor of Law and LLM Programs Director at the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, where she specializes in International Law, International Criminal Law, Human Rights and Transitional Justice. She is the author of seven book and numerous law review articles on various topics of international law. In 2013, she was a Fulbright Scholar in Azerbaijan, a former Soviet republic, where she researched issues of state sovereignty and self-determination. Professor Sterio holds a JD from Cornell Law School, a law degree and a Master's degree from the University of Paris I, and a BA from Rutgers University.
