Christopher Sagers, the James A. Thomas Distinguished Professor of Law at Cleveland State University’s Cleveland Marshall College of Law, has been selected to serve as a fellow with Yale University’s Thurman Arnold Project, one of the leading academic research centers in the nation in the area of antitrust law. In that role, Sagers will seek to further his scholarship surrounding the impact of new technology and online business models on traditional antitrust policy and the government mechanisms set up to enforce these laws.
“It is truly an honor to be selected for this fellowship and I am looking forward to working with the Project’s prominent group of scholars to improve antitrust policy and ensure the law properly protects consumers and competition,” Sagers says.
Christopher Sagers is a nationally recognized expert in antitrust law. He has testified before the U.S. Congress and frequently appears in national and international media, including The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, CNBC, Fox News, and National Public Radio. He is the author of United States v. Apple: Competition in America, published by Harvard University Press in September, 2019. He is also a member of the American Law Institute and an Advisory Board member of the American Antitrust Institute.
The Thurman Arnold Project brings together Yale faculty, students and scholars from other institutions to collaborate on research related to competition and competition policy as well as antitrust enforcement. The goal of the project is to generate discipline-based, rigorous scholarship and disseminate it through multiple channels to impact competition enforcement and policy around the world. It is named after the longtime Yale professor who also served as U.S. Assistant Attorney General for Antitrust Issues during the Franklin Roosevelt Administration.
