“The dignity of labor depends not on what you do, but how you do it.” -Edwin Osgood Grover

Yesterday was Labor Day and we tend to think about labor as work. But it’s also about how you do your work.

We live in a world where, for most of us, helping our fellow citizens in a time of need is a labor of love. This past week, we saw the worst of mother nature and the best of human nature. In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, as the water rose, people throughout the world rose to help their fellow citizens in a time of need.

The C|M|Law Hispanic Law Student Association (HLSA) pledges to match all monetary donations up to a total of $200 through September 20.After the first $200, C|M|Law will match all additional monetary donations up to a total of $300. You can choose to donate directly to any of the 3 organizations listed below or place a cash donation in a box located in the Dean's Suite.

If you donate directly to an organization, please send a screenshot of the final donation or an emailed receipt to HLSA's email address atcmlawhlsanull@gmail.nullcom so HLSA can match the donation to that specific organization. Based on HLSA’s research, we encourage you to donate toone of the following funds which are giving directly to victims - Houston Flood Relief Fund, Feeding Texas, or Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.

We also live in a world of extraordinary leaders whose inspiring labor has opened doors, broken barriers, and made a path for others to follow. That’s why, over the next 10 days, we will announce those special leaders who have been selected to be inducted in the inauguralCleveland-Marshall College of Law (C|M|Law) Hall of Fame.

Our honorees include living and deceased alumni, faculty, deans, staff, and community leaders. We had over 250 worthy nominations for induction from our Hall of Fame Selection Committee, and we selected 30 living inductees and 90 deceased inductees, for a total of 120 inductees in honor of our 120th anniversary. There will be new inductees selected each year, and the largest number of inductees are being inducted this year.

Please join us at our C|M|Law Hall of Fame Inaugural Celebration on October 19, 2017, 5:30-8pm, and please invest in our 120 Scholarship CampaignPlease consider a contribution or pledge today ranging from $120 to $12,000 to $120,000. Please give here: Believe in C|M|LAW. Give Now. or send me an email with your pledge at: lee.fishernull@csuohio.nulledu. It would mean a lot to us.

Have a great week.

My best,
Lee
