I want to highlight some upcoming major annual C|M|Law Events that you don’t want to miss!

  • Wednesday, April 26, our nationally-known C|M|Law Center for Cybersecurity and Privacy Protection led by Professor Brian Rayand Professor Candice Hoke will host the Tech Week Big Data, Cybersecurity, and Disruptive Technologies Forum. Our co-hosts areOHTec and Cleveland State University.
  • Thursday, April 27 and Friday, April 28, our C|M|Law Cybersecurity Center will host our annual C|M|Law Cybersecurity and Privacy Protection Conference.
  • Saturday, April 29, 5-7pm, we will host our first-ever C|M|Law Family Legacy Event. We have invited all alumni legacies (A C|M|Law Legacy is an alumnus, alumna or current student whose parent, grandparent, sibling, aunt, uncle, or spouse/life partner also received a degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law). The C|M|Law Alumni Association is co-sponsoring the event. Please RSVP atlegacynull@law.csuohio.nulledu or 216-687-2537.
  • Thursday, May 11, 5:30-7:30pm, is Radiance, CSU ‘s signature event in support of student scholarships, at the CSU Student Center. For the first time, we are coordinating our efforts with the University and reaching out to our C|M|Law donors noting that they now may designate their Radiance donation for C|M|Law Scholarships.
  • Saturday, May 20, we will host our C|M|Law Commencement for our graduating students at Playhouse Square’s historic Ohio Theater. Our Commencement Speaker is Linda Klein and we will award Honorary Degrees to her, Steve Percy ‘79, and Richard Pogue.
    • Linda Klein is President of the American Bar Association, the world's largest voluntary professional association and overseesAmerica's largest organization of lawyers with more than 400,000 members.
    • Steve Percy '79 is our first C|M|Law Leader-in Residence. Steve is a 1979 graduate of C|M|Law and former Chairman/CEO of BP America. Steve is a member of C|M|Law’s Board of Visitors. In 2014, he established the Steven W. Percy Endowed Professorship atC|M|Law to recognize exceptional work on environmental and energy law. Professor Heidi Gorovitz Robertson is the Steven W. Percy Distinguished Professor.
    • Richard (Dick) Pogue is an icon in the Cleveland civic and legal community. There is no individual who has done more to advance economic development, arts and culture, higher education, and the legal profession in Cleveland and Northeast Ohio than Dick Pogue. He is the former Managing Partner of the global law firm, Jones Day, and currently serves as Senior Advisor to the firm.
  • Thursday, May 25, our Alumni Association will host the Annual C|M|Law Alumni Association Recognition Luncheon at the Renaissance Hotel. The Alumni Association will honor Reverend Dr. Stephen Rowan '80, Senior Pastor of Bethany Baptist Church and Board Chair of The Cleveland Foundation, and Ian Friedman '97, one of Ohio’s most accomplished criminal defense lawyers and a member of the C|M|Law Adjunct Faculty.
