Monday Morning Message 11.28.2016

“All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident”. - Arthur Schopenhauer

"Nothing is more dangerous than an idea when it is the only one you have." - Emile Chartier

One of my major goals is to further foster a culture in our C|M|Law community where everyone is empowered to have a voice and a stake in our future. Where we value continuous trust, innovation, and creativity. That’s why we’ve initiated this weekly Monday Morning Message; our twice-a-month newsletter; the new twice-a-month “Dine with the Dean” sessions with students; and “pop-up” dialogues on timely issues such as the presidential election.

In that spirit, I'm excited to announce our new, completely anonymous C|M|Law Suggestion Box. Follow this link and submit your constructive, thoughtful, respectful, honest ideas regarding anything having to do with the C|M|Law experience. You will always be able to access the link from our newsletter, or you can bookmark it in your browser.

I prefer that you consider this as a virtual “solution” box rather than a “suggestion” box. Rather than treating it as a receptacle for whatever anyone wants to talk or complain about, I prefer that it be a place where you can suggest solutions to any issues of concern. In some future Monday Morning Messages, I will share some of the submitted ideas, and I also will be asking for your ideas concerning specific challenges and opportunities we are facing.

When you hit "submit," your idea will be sent to a single staff member with no identifying information. Your ideas through this platform will be private, anonymous and confidential because I don’t want anyone to feel that there might be negative repercussions for suggesting something. But having said that, it is my hope that most of you will NOT use this anonymous tool. Why? Because I hope that you will feel safe and comfortable in sending ideas and proposed solutions to me or other faculty and/or staff anytime and identifying yourself so that I, or someone on my behalf, can follow up with you personally.

Either way, I always look forward to your ideas.
