Tuesday Morning Message 1.17.23 Pay It Forward

"The student ambassadors, the alumni call from the Honorable Judge Michelle Paris, and the accepted student opportunities all made it feel like CSU Law wanted me to attend." – Admitted Student

“I so appreciate that you reached out to me personally. It confirms everything that I have heard from alumni and students about the supportive culture of the law school and its alumni network.”  - Admitted Student

This morning’s message is to our dedicated alumni and friends. I am asking you to be part of an aspiring lawyer’s journey by paying it forward.

Our law school’s highest priority is recruiting and enrolling our Fall 2023 class.

Each year, many of our admitted students tell us that the opportunity to communicate with alumni actually made the difference in their decision to enroll at CSU|LAW.

So I am asking our alumni and friends to reach out to admitted students to share why CSU|LAW should be their first choice for Fall 2023. Each admitted candidate is assigned to an alumnus/a, who is asked to reach out to the student to welcome them, answer their questions, and provide a personal perspective on the question: “Why CSU|LAW?”

Please consider volunteering. The time commitment is small, but your impact is large. You will be asked to contact some admitted students.

If you are able to help, please email Jill Johnson, our Director of Strategic Initiatives, at  j.m.johnson76null@csuohio.nulledu (opens in new window)j.m.johnson76null@csuohio.nulledu m3: m4: target="_blank" class="with-icon-after icon-external-black" m5:j.m.johnson76null@csuohio.nulledu (opens in new window) --> by this Friday, January 20, 2023.  Jill is copied so you can just “reply all.” Jill will then follow up with you about reaching out to specific admitted applicants.

Our highest priority is to make each and every admitted student feel welcomed and embraced by the CSU|LAW family. Often a personal connection is all that a student needs to choose one law school over another.

The crucial time begins now.

We do not take their enrollment for granted. The competition among law schools for these talented students is intense.

All of our admitted students are very talented, and virtually all have been accepted at more than one law school. They must make their choice soon about where to begin the next chapter of their life. Most will decide in the first few months of 2023 leading up to an April seat deposit deadline.

We owe our continued enrollment success not only to the very hard work of our great admissions team led by Assistant Dean for Admission Barbara Andelman, Assistant Director John Bell, and Jill Johnson, but also to the coordinated personal outreach effort by students, faculty, administration, and our dedicated alumni and friends.

Please join our group of enthusiastic CSU|LAW Ambassadors.

Please pay it forward.

Thank you, as always, for your support.

Have a great day. Have a great week.

My best,

Lee
