Leadership Under the Law: In Principle and in Practice

Join us for the Cleveland State Law Review Symposium on Friday, October 23!

This year's symposium, Leadership Under the Law: In Principle and in Practice, explores the many ways lawyers are called to lead throughout their careers and communities. Through discussions with judges, attorneys, business leaders, and scholars, the symposium will examine how leadership is developed, tested, and applied across the legal profession. The program will consider the role of ethics, professional judgment, mentorship, organizational culture, public service, and decision-making in shaping effective leaders. By bringing together perspectives from the bench, private sector, and broader legal community, the symposium seeks to provide practical insight into what it means to lead through the law and how the next generation of lawyers can develop those skills.
