David Pogue - AI: The Coping Crash Course

Richard W. Pogue Leadership Conversation Series

Almost overnight, AI has become fantastically useful—and terrifying. Educators are calling it “the end of writing skills.” Experts are calling AI-generated video “the end of trust, news, and democracy.” And what about our jobs?

If you’re a lawyer, that’s only the half of it. What happens to evidence in a world where realistic documents, photos, and videos can be generated with a click? And what are we to make of the 1,600 lawyers who’ve been sanctioned so far for submitting fake AI-generated documents in court?

On the other hand, AI is offering astonishing breakthroughs: in self-driving cars, in mental-health care, in disease prediction, and drug creation. Fans insist that AI isn’t the end of civilization—it marks a new era of creative expression, productivity, and equity.

In this funny, unforgettable presentation—updated the very day of the talk—David Pogue will demonstrate the state of the art in AI, help audiences manage their emotions around it, and prepare them for the years to come.
