Monday Morning Message 10.12.20 Know the Truth. Spread the Truth.
“The ballot is stronger than the bullet.” -President Abraham Lincoln
Every week until Election Day, I will continue to provide information about voting. Why? Because in all my years participating in and watching elections, I have never seen so much deliberate disinformation about alleged voter fraud designed to undermine confidence in our democracy and our election system.
This is not and must not be a partisan issue.

Monday Morning Message 10.5.20 3 Reasons Why Today Is So Important
“There are three constants in life: change, choice and principles.” -Stephen Covey
Today, Monday, October 5, 2020, is a very important day for three reasons.
First, the Ohio Bar Exam starts today. For the first time in Ohio history, it will be a remote online exam.
Change is hard, and our 2020 graduates have had to endure unprecedented uncertainty, so our faculty and staff sent them this video to let them know that we support them- We Believe In You - Message to our Bar Takers

Monday Morning Message 9.29.20 Time to Show Up.
Note: Monday was Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year in Judaism, so this message is being sent Tuesday morning.
“The vote is precious. It is almost sacred. It is the most powerful non-violent tool we have in a democracy.” – Congressman John Lewis
“We do not have government by the majority. We have government by the majority who participate.” – Thomas Jefferson
In just 6 days, Monday, October 5, Ohio voter registration ends. See Election Truth: Ohio Voter Registration. In just

Monday Morning Message 9.21.20 "I ask no favor for my sex. All I ask of our brethren is that they take their feet off our necks.”
“I ask no favor for my sex. All I ask of our brethren is that they take their feet off our necks.”
-Ruth Bader Ginsburg arguing before the U.S. Supreme Court, quoting abolitionist Sarah Grimké.
“I tell law students… if you are going to be a lawyer and just practice your profession, you have a skill—very much like a plumber. But if you want to be a true professional, you will do something outside yourself… something that makes life a little better for people less fortunate than you.” – U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg (aka “RBG”)

Monday Morning Message 9.14.20 Faculty Focus
“Education is not the filling of a pail but the lighting of a fire.” – William Butler Yeats
“I am not a teacher, but an awakener.” – Robert Frost
Nothing is more important to student success and the success of our great law school than the quality of our faculty.
Our faculty are teachers and scholars who offer a level of expertise, accessibility, support, encouragement, and interaction that many law schools don’t offer. They not only inspire our students, they inspire each other, and they inspire me.

Monday Morning Message 9.8.20 Your Virtual Care Package
“Nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.” -President Theodore Roosevelt
Our faculty, staff, and alumni are their every day to support our students, and our students are there every day to support each other. That’s never been more important.
I’m very pleased to share a Welcome Video from some of our faculty and staff to our first year students, produced by Elaine Terman, Director of Marketing & Communications, and CSU undergraduate student Quan Nguyen.

Monday Morning Message 8.24.20 Meet the Class of 2023!
“Get ready to embark on a wild ride unlike anything you’ve ever experienced, packed with thrills, chills, and probably a few spills. Being a 1L will challenge you like you’ve never been challenged….. The first year of law school will be one of the hardest years of your life. Law school will profoundly alter the way you think, and view and interact with the world around you. Your 1L experience will change who you are, whether you want it to or not. “ Andrew McClurg, 1L of a Ride, A Well-Traveled Professor's Roadmap to Success in the First Year of Law School

Monday Morning Message 8.17.20 Remember Your Why.
“Come to the edge” he said. They said, “We are afraid.“ “Come to the edge,” he said. They came. He pushed them…and they flew.” – Guillaume Apollinaire
“Study while others are sleeping, decide while others are delaying, prepare while others are daydreaming, begin while others are procrastinating, work while others are wishing, persist while others are quitting” - Anonymous
We are excited that today is the first day of our virtual orientation for our first year class of very talented students.

Monday Morning Message 8.10.20 Be a Force for Justice. Register to Be a JEDI
When historians pick up their pens to write the story of the 21st century, let them say that it was your generation who laid down the heavy burdens of hate at last and that peace finally triumphed over violence, aggression and war. So I say to you, walk with the wind, brothers and sisters, and let the spirit of peace and the power of everlasting love be your guide.” – Congressman John Lewis
(Note: this is an excerpt from an essay John Lewis wrote shortly before his death that was published in the New York Times on the day of his funeral.)

Monday Morning Message 8.4.20 Our 2020 Hall of Fame Inductees
“When the school offered me a scholarship, I asked my sister to read the letter for me because I couldn’t believe that something so good was happening to me. Seeing how many people invest in this institution really makes me want to study as hard as I can.” – Erica Molnar ‘19
We are in the final two weeks of recruiting talented students for our Fall 2020 class. Orientation begins on August 18.
The competition between law schools for the most talented students has never been more intense.
When we are able to compete with other law schools that are offering generous scholarships, we usually win the competition because we offer a unique value proposition – our ability to fulfill our mission to Learn Law and Live Justice.
