
Visiting Professor Profile: Matthew Ahn

Matthew Ahn joins the CSU Cleveland-Marshall College of Law faculty this Fall as a Visiting Professor. Ahn, a graduate of the New York University School of Law, most recently served as a Research and Writing Attorney with the Federal Public Defender for the Northern District of Ohio. However, the law is just one of many passions for Ahn.

Restorative Justice Pop-up Practicum Students Work for Change in the Community

Three Cleveland-Marshall College of Law Students, Langston Bailey-Murray, Erica Sammon, and Caitlin Steiner had the opportunity during the Spring 2021 semester to present both the Cleveland City Prosecutor and the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court a proposal to establish a restorative justice diversion alternative for prosecutions in the City of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court.
CSU Center for Cybersecurity and Privacy Protection Board Members Draft Ohio Personal Privacy Act (OPPA)
CSU Cleveland-Marshall College of Law’s Center for Cybersecurity and Privacy Protection Advisory Board member and CyberOhio Chair Kirk Herath led a small group of experts, including Center Director Professor Brian Ray and two other Center Board members, Tim Opsitnick, and Spence Witten, in drafting Ohio’s landmark privacy bill that was announced at a July 13 press conference by Ohio Lt. Governor Jon Husted and several lawmakers.
Lt. Governor Husted previewed House Bill 376, also known as the Ohio Personal Privacy Act (OPPA), at the Center’s annual Cybersecurity and Privacy Protection Conference May 28.

C|M Law Creates 3+3 Program with Baldwin Wallace University

Cleveland-Marshall College of Law is pleased to announce that it has entered into a 3+3 partnership with Baldwin Wallace University. This latest 3+3 agreement is particularly satisfying, as C|M Law can trace the origin of one of its predecessor law schools to Baldwin Wallace.

IAPP Lists CSU Cleveland-Marshall as One of Five U.S. Law Schools to Offer a Privacy Certificate

The International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) recent international survey of academic privacy programs listed Cleveland State University’s Cleveland-Marshall College of Law's Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Certificate as one of only five such programs offered by a U.S.

Hire CMLAW Profile: Lynn Kernya
Congratulations to Lynn Kernya, a recent C|M|LAW graduate! Lynn graduated with her JD and a concentration in Labor and Employment Law. She is a recipient of the ABA-BNA Award for Excellence in the Study of Labor and Employment Law. Although Lynn recently accepted a role with Nesco Resource in the Human Resource and Compliance department, she is open to networking with Alumni and the legal community.

Dean’s Learn Law. Live Justice. Award Recipient Renee Stromski ’21

Renee Stromski ’21 has a passion for serving others that she has demonstrated throughout her time in law school, both on campus and throughout the community. For her outstanding work using her legal education as a force for good that embodies the CSU Cleveland-Marshall College of Law slogan of “Learn Law. Live Justice.”, Renee was selected as the 2021 recipient of the Dean’s Learn Law.

Graduate Profile: 2021 Class Valedictorian Caitlin Steiner

Caitlin Steiner’s only goal entering law school at CSU Cleveland-Marshall College of Law was to do the best she could academically in order to give herself the best possible start to her legal career. The best she could do resulted in Caitlin graduating from CSU C|M|LAW as valedictorian of the Class of 2021, an honor she considers a “happy surprise.”
